Eric N. Shelly, DMD
Dr. Shelly is native to Lancaster County, PA, where he honed his technical and artistic skills in his father’s machine shop while working as a machinist growing up. Those experiences enabled him to appreciate the meticulous attention to detail that is required in the dental profession. He later attended Franklin & Marshall College where he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics. He went on to the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine where he was awarded his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry.
Always determined to stay on the cutting edge of the profession, Dr. Shelly has added Oral Sedation dentistry to his repertoire, thus enabling him to provide the highest level of care to all patients, including patients that are fearful or anxious about receiving dental treatment. Dr. Shelly obtained his license by completing a hospital based clinical rotation in sedation dentistry at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey. Additionally, he has trained through the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) and the American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry (ASAAD). Dr. Shelly has transformed the experience of going to the dentist into a pleasurable one, and provides an environment where each and every patient is treated respectfully and safely while restoring their dental health at the same time.
Dr. Shelly has earned his Fellowship in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) as well as the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). His other affiliations include the International Association of Orthodontics (IAO), American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesiology in Dentistry (ASAAD), and he is currently the incoming President of the Dental Society of Chester and Delaware County. In his free time, Dr. Shelly’s civic mindedness is exemplified by being a devoted member of the Exchange Club of West Chester, having served as both President and Treasurer of the local chapter of the national service organization.

Margaret Lee, D.M.D.
Dr. Lee obtained her undergraduate degree from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. She later obtained her Doctorate in Medical Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Lee is originally from Northern New Jersey, but relocated to the West Chester area sixteen years ago upon completion of a hospital based General Practice Residency at the Hospital of Veterans Affairs in West Philadelphia. Dr. Lee began her private practice career in 1991 when she and her husband, Dr. Shelly, purchased Dr. Robert Platt’s practice in West Chester after his retirement. Together, they have grown immensely in both scope of practice and number of patients under their care with a continued focus on quality patient care.
Dr. Lee has spent the last several years honing her skills in periodontal surgery, implant restorations, and removable prosthodontics through countless hours of continuing education and independent study. She is tireless in her pursuit of the most up to date and technologically sound practices, and is devoted to providing the best care available with the best resources at her fingertips.
Dr. Lee devotes a significant portion of her free time to the Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue, where she is an active foster for dogs as they transition to new homes. She also helps run RudyDog Productions - a company that makes greeting cards featuring the rescued pups from Brookline. Dr. Lee and Dr. Shelly also have three Labrador Retrievers of her own: Oakley, Zeppelin, and Dakota.

Eric Fort, D.M.D.
Dr. Fort was born and raised in West Chester, PA. He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Penn State University in 1999. Dr. Fort is a 2003 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. While there, he also earned a Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration as he would like to pursue teaching at the professional level in the future. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Fort was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. After completing Officer Indoctrination School in Newport, R.I., LT Fort completed a one-year hospital based General Practice Residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. From there, he was assigned as the Dental Department Head on USS WHIDBEY ISLAND (LSD-41) from June 2004 until June 2006. During his time spent onboard he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom as a forward deployed operational unit supporting both Sailors and Marines in the Persian Gulf. His ship was also an integral member of Joint Task Force Katrina in support of hurricane relief efforts in the gulf coast region, which included providing dental care to numerous displaced citizens.
Dr. Fort’s transition to private practice dentistry began with a return to his hometown where he joined Dr.’s Shelly and Lee as their associate at West Chester Dental Arts. Dr. Fort is currently involved in various community associations and outreach programs throughout Chester County. These include offering his services at Community Volunteers in Medicine where access to care is provided to the underserved population of the local area, as well as a member of the Community Relations committee of the Chester County ARC. He has embraced his role as a private practice dentist, and relishes the opportunity to practice his profession in his hometown where he shares his life with his wife and two children.

Donna Maslin, Registered Dental Hygienist
Donna has been with the practice since 1998. She graduated in 1993 from Thomas Jefferson University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been in practice as a RDH for fourteen years, and her experience is evident as soon as you meet her and sit in her dental chair. Her knowledge and skills are unparalleled as she aids each patient in achieving good dental health. She will put you at ease and make the experience of having your teeth cleaned one you will enjoy. Donna considers herself lucky to be able to have her career of choice and equally fortunate to have a wonderful husband and four year-old daughter.

Lynne B. Franz, Registered Dental Hygienist
Lynne Franz is a practicing dental hygienist with over nineteen years of experience in the dental field. Now a naturalized citizen of the United States, Lynne was born and raised in the Philippines and graduated in 1988 from the Centro Escolar University in Manila with the degree of doctor of dental medicine. She had remained in the Philippines for one year after graduation and entered the dental field as a licensed practicing dentist until her immigration to the Untied States in 1989. While in the United States, Lynne had again entered the dental field working as a certified expanded function dental assistant while attending Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA pursuing the study of dental hygiene. In 1998, Lynne graduated from Harcum College with an associate degree in dental hygiene, received her license in the state of Pennsylvania, and has been continually practicing in the Exton area as a registered dental hygienist since then.
High on Lynne’s list of priorities is her commitment to ongoing professional continuing education where she continually improves her skills and competence in the latest advanced techniques for palliative treatment of dental conditions. Lynne lives in the Honey Brook area with her husband and two young boys. When not pursuing her professional commitments, she enjoys cooking, shopping, dining out, gardening and spending quality time with her family.

Maria DellaValle, Registered Dental Hygienist
Maria is a 2003 graduate of Neumann College with a degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education. Although she loved teaching, she felt that something was missing and wanted something more in her career. She decided to further her education and in 2007 she graduated from Harcum College with an AS in Dental Hygiene. Her favorite part of her new career is being able to make a difference in a patients’ health by educating them on the importance of oral hygiene and smiling confidently. When not at work, Maria loves to spend time with her family, enjoys outdoor activities, and shopping. Among her many degrees, she is also a certified Yoga instructor. All of that aside, she’s very excited to be here and looks forward to meeting you and your hygiene needs.

Stefanie Zednik, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Stef has been with the practice since 2000, and currently assists two days a week so she can spend time with her husband and two little children. Stefanie is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) with unparalleled skill and a tremendous grasp of treatment planning and treatment options. Her fifteen years of experience assisting has provided her with the appropriate tools necessary to assist in every capacity including implant restorations and endodontic therapy. She also brings a level of compassion to your treatment that will immediately put you at ease on your way to a beautiful smile.

Terri McCreary, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Terri has been with the practice since 2002, where she quickly established herself as a tremendous dental assistant with an unsurpassed working knowledge of the dental materials used in all facets of dentistry. Her experiences prior to joining West Chester Dental Arts include a degree in Health and Physical Education from Lock Haven University, teaching secondary education, and fifteen years of dental assisting. In 2003, Terri became an EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) by obtaining her certificate at Harcum Junior College and subsequently granted the authority to practice as an EFDA by the State of Pennsylvania. Her understanding of restorative dentistry as well as orthodontics and implantology make her an invaluable asset to the team as we
provide the best care possible for our patients.

Tracy Hildenbrand, Dental Assistant
Tracy has been with the practice since 2002, where she has consistently provided superb dental assisting skills while keeping a smile on the face of the patient’s with her irrepressible sense of humor. Tracy will take every opportunity to put each patient at ease as they achieve their dental goals of having a healthy, beautiful smile. Her personality along with her technical skill provides a perfect combination for your dental experience. Tracy’s free time is dedicated to her family, friends, and planning her upcoming wedding to Ed. They were engaged this past Halloween.

Leann Hart, Patient Care Coordinator
Leann has been with the practice since 1996, lending her expertise wherever it has been needed. She is a tremendous asset to the office, using her ten years of experience and knowledge aiding patients in their pursuit of dental health. She is constantly reviewing the most up to date information regarding dental insurance policies, and serves as a liaison between the Dr., patient, and insurance provider when necessary. She is also closely involved in the process of providing patients with various options as they pursue the smile of their dreams. Leann is eager to help you in any way she can. Leann has been married since 1991 and enjoys spending her free time chasing after her two sons.

Cheryl Gaudi, Patient Care Coordinator/Sedation Consultant
Cheryl has been with the practice since 2001, where she uses her tremendous background in dental products and services to provide superior assistance to our patients as our Sedation Consultant. To that end, Cheryl is devoted to assisting each patient with determining an appropriate course of treatment by meshing both the Doctor’s recommendations and the patient’s wishes into a comprehensive and mutually acceptable treatment plan. It is our wish to provide excellent care for each and every patient within a framework that allows for open communication between Doctor and patient.

Gretchen Flack, Patient Care Coordinator/Marketing Coordinator
Gretchen joined the practice in 2006 and quickly became an integral part of the team with her strong computer background and innate ability to work with patients and make them comfortable in the dental setting. Gretchen attended High School in West Chester, PA, and received a degree in Media Arts and Design from James Madison University in 2005. Her ability to inform and educate patients on our mission as dental care providers through multimedia outlets has been a welcome addition to the practice. Her efforts afford patients the opportunity to learn more about the various options that are available as they seek out comprehensive dental care and achieve the smile of their dreams.

Brandy McCreary, Patient Care Coordinator
Please join us in welcoming Brandy McCreary to our front desk! She has actually been an honorary member of our staff family here for the past five years as she is the daughter of our EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant), Terri McCreary. Brandy graduated from Henderson in 2002 and from Neumann College in 2006 with a BA in Communications. At Neumann, she captained the field hockey team and also played lacrosse. Brandy comes to us from AIG, where she worked for a year in Philadelphia. She’s very excited to officially join us and her friendly nature and good people skills make us excited to have her!
